We all do it. We all say it. We say things like, "yeah...when I was a kid, we used to walk to school in a snow storm". We often see nostalgic lists and blurbs about old cars, old music, old television shows etc. especially here in The Villages. Pick up a copy of The Daily Sun on any day of the week....you'll see. I began thinking about when such nostalgic thinking begins in our lives.....and I've concluded that it happens at various points for all of us....milestones pass often without us noticing.....then we look back and say to ourselves...."man...did things change." Obviously, these stages occur about every 15-20 years in a person's life....a generation. So now, 20 somethings are beginning to look back nostalgically, longingly perhaps, for the days of the 90's. I've also concluded that they may know more about us than we (generations born 1930-1950s) know about them. They know about LPs, rotary phones, old TV shows, old music.......but what are they now nostalgic about? There are a few areas of commonality between generation shifts....but not much in the details.....

Here's a list of they're nostalgic about.....you'll be surprised....see how much you know....and don't know:

You're a 90's kid if:

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!"

You just cant resist finishing this... "Iiiiiiin west philladelphia born and raised..."

You remember TGIF on ABC. Step by Step, Family Matters, Dinosaurs, and Boy Meets World.

You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House"

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

You danced to "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls, Females: had a new motto, Males: got a whole lot gay-er. (so tell me what you want, what you really really want.)

You remember the craze, then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...

You used to listen to the radio all day long just to record "Your FAVORITE song of ALL time"

Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? was both a game and a TV game show.

Captain Planet.

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green Ranger were meant to be together.

When playing power rangers with friends you fought over who got to be who............and still all ended up being Tommy.

You remember when super nintendo's became popular.

You always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos... but never taped anything funny.

You remember watching home alone 1, 2 , and 3........and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"

When you have played and beaten mario brothers/duck hunt.

You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates

You haven't always had a computer, and it was cool to have the internet.

Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!
