A motor can be damaged if towed at a higher speed with power going to the motor. As most vehicles have an anti-rollaway feature and regenerative braking, the controller would sense the unit moving without anyone pressing the pedal, and then send voltage to the motor to attempt and slow down or stop the unit.

With that said, if the power was shut off to the controller, and the "pushing" was by human means, I'd bet you're just fine.
