Hi - the only good choices in my area are DirecTV and Comcast. The Comcast TV service and customer service is terrible, so I'm resigned to making the best of DirecTV.
When I signed up for DirecTV it was a 24 month promotion that included free HDTV for life. As we approached the 24 month end, I called them at 800-531-5000 and asked what replacement credits I qualify for, and they gave me either $5/month or $10/month credit for another 12 months. Now I keep track of that and phone in advance to make sure I get replacement credits. About once a year they call me with promotions as well. I have their Xtra package with a DVR and HDTV service and I am currently paying about $76. after credits. I hate the annual begging but what can you do?
