Sure you will definitely get more house for the $$, outside of the Villages, but that is as far as it goes. In the case of Del Webb, Summerfield it was promised that shops, various business were going to be present....10 ++ years later Nothing at all, and sadly the property values went rapidly down a short while after build out was completed, plus They " OWN " the roads every inch. Not sure of The Villages?? Compare what is around look at the big picture it is the Lifestyle right here, is it Perfect ? of course not but really a pretty, pretty cool place to be.

Same thing happened at Del Web Sun City Center near Bradonton. Golf courses closed, very few restaurants, no movie theaters etc.
No one put money into their homes like they do in TV.
We did sell there house when they passed on 2010 and the price was pretty much what they paid in 1992, $180K for 2000sf, double lot on a lake with pontoon boats.
There's always cheaper but not better.
