First, welcome to The Villages. The advice someone gave you on this thread to check the weekly Recreation News is excellent, it covers all the free classes that are available. Also, the advice to take a class through the Adult Education is great advice too. You will definitely benefit from a good, small, exercise/dance class.
However, this is a really miserable time to try to take one of the free classes offered around TV. They are all, without exception, full to capacity and it would be very difficult for you to see the instructor or to really learn much at this time of the year. I would suggest you spend the money to take a good beginner class at the school, then after March 31 try out several of the ultra beginner classes offered in the Rec News. Do not start with Beginner, it is not really beginner, you need to start with ultra beginner, then when you are bored with that move up to one of the several beginner classes, and you can go as far as you want from there.
I know that Jean does an ultra beginner class at 8:30am at Laurel Manor on a Thursday and Lisa does an ultra beginner class in the afternoon (today) Thursdays at Eisenhower.
Whatever you decide to do, make it fun .................... and I forgot - there is an excellent website called
www.villagelinedance.com which covers everything you ever wanted to know about line dancing in TV.
