Re: TRICARE PRIME THREATENED
I have been retired from USN since 1974 and was shocked in 1982 when I went to the hospital in Newport, RI, and was handed my health and dental records and told to go find myself and family some civilian doctors because the Government was breaking it's promise and would not be providing me and my wife with the promised health and dental care for the rest of our lives. So much for promises from our elected politicians. I and my wife are now well over 65 and on Medicare. Although I also had medical coverage as a retired Civil Service employee, I SUSPENDED my Blue Cross and am enrolled in Tricare for Life. Truly a lifesaver. You will find that most of the doctors in and around TV accept Medicare and TFL as payment in full. I will agree that most of the doctors are not native born US citizens. This area is fertile ground for foreign born doctors. From news accounts it appears that the whole country has a shortage of native American doctors. I would not even venture a guess on why that is happening except to presume that American kids don't seem to have the intelligence to get into the field of medicine. That doesn't say much for our educational system in the US.
