How many out there either suspect or know for a fact, via trial and error/elimination of certain foods, that they are allergic to the nightshade family of veggies?

The main culprits seem to be potatoes, tomatoes, red and green peppers, cayenne pepper, etc. eggplant, tobacco, and others.....

The "symptoms"after indulging are usually stiffness and joint inflammation or pain.

Included in above link are some healthy alternatives to the nightshade veggies.

Yet another link that is even more "food for thought" re eliminating certain foodstuffs.....please keep scrolling all the way down to read in its entirety.

Having done the elimination diet of the above mentioned foods, which include meats, eggs and dairy........then added them back, I can most definitely see the difference. Amazingly so.

Of course, this "experiment" on my part was complicated by also having to live with sub zero temps as well as single digit temperatures and lots of snow and ice of late.......two different culprits.......food....plus weather which does chill you to the bone.

The vegans and vegetarians are to be applauded for their steadfastness in spreading their message.

Now to find a way around it all for a "meat eating family".
Senior, lately we seem to be on the same track. A couple of weeks ago, I bought a book by Jean Carper: "Foods That Heal". A few days ago I read what she said about Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). She said it could be due to a food allergy or food sensitivity. And to find out which foods you shouldn't be eating you would use a process of elimination. You would eliminate a certain suspected food for a certain amount of time. I was going to tell you about it but you beat me to it.

Good for you! I'm glad you found something that works. Will you be a vegan or vegetarian now? Or perhaps a pescetarian?
