Quite simply because they found him guilty of three counts of attempted murder and, yet, a young man is dead. First degree murder? Probably not. Second degree? Certainly seems reasonable given the known facts. I hate to say it but given that it was a Jacksonville jury, I seriously wonder what the verdict would have been in other parts of the state or country. Bigotry and stereotyping can and does play a huge factor in jury verdicts.
