Default Movie theaters in and near the Villages

You can get information about movies playing in the Villages from here:

Old Mill Playhouse-- http://www.thevillages.com/lifestyle/oldMill.htm
The Rialto-- http://www.thevillages.com/lifestyle/rialto.htm

There are several movie theaters and a drive-in not very far from the Villages. There is a drive-in called the Ocala Drive-In http://www.mrmovietimes.com/movie-th...-Drive-In.html. In addition, there is a Regal theater in Inverness http://tampa.creativeloafing.com/gyr...ion=oid%3A6520 which is fairly close to the western parts of the Villages and an AMC in Leesburg http://www.simon.com/mall/tenant_det...=131&TID=20632 which is closer to the eastern and southern portions of the Villages. These theaters usually show about the same movies as the Villages theaters except for movies geared more to the young adult and teen set.

There is a discount theater in Belleview. http://www.dtmovies.com/showtimes.aspx?tid=142

And there is a Regal theater in Ocala http://www.fandango.com/ocala_fl_movietheatershowtimes as well as of course other theaters further away in Ocala or nearby. http://www.fandango.com/theaterlisti...ion=ocala%2cfl

For art house movies, unless they are playing in the Villages, you will have to go to Orlando or Tampa. You can get place and time of the these movies from the Orlando Sentinel web-site http://www.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment/ as well as that for the Tampa Tribune. http://www.tbo.com/entertainment/

You may even check and see if there are any film festivals going on at the University of Florida in Gainesville. This French one looks like it is over-- http://www.clas.ufl.edu/FranceFlorida/face.html . Also, check the Thursday Village Daily Sun for film clubs and whether they are showing any movies. They also sometimes show movies for the golf cart set at the Polo Fields in the Villages.
