The EU is apparently passing some travel restrictions for certain people as part of their sanctions.
Depending on what happens in the Ukraine, some people's travel plans might end up disrupted.
If I had plans to go there I would be considering the possible implications of geopolitical risk.
I personally would not make plans for a trip to Russia at this time. If the Ukraine issue blows up, I would fear becoming a target of anti-American hot heads in country.
The Russian News Channel RT (Russia Today) is an eye opener.
RT hired some western journalist. I read where a journalist quit recently because of pressure on how to report the news about the Ukraine.

If you read some articles on RT about the Ukraine, the POV is is quite different (compared to say, CNN)... it is interesting.
There are comments from posters about Ukraine Articles.
Some of the comments are a bit chilling.
On one hand, it just looks like people spewing about America.... that is, from my computer screen.
But what might it mean if I were over there?

When it comes to risk, I just avoid it, if possible.
