I have been following TOTV for a number of years now and to be honest with you I cant recall Home Depot or Lowes ever being mentioned as a company who enclosed a lanai with window sliders. That said, I have used them both for contractor services (ie plumbing, carpets etc) and have always been pleased.
If you are looking for shatter proof glass, almost any contractor can sell you tempered glass windows. In fact our contractor installed them in our lower transom windows (Sliders over transom windows) as well as the slider windows by the exterior exit door...which I believe are required by code. You need tempered glass for the lower transon windows just in case any rocks get thrown your way at low level from cutting grass or edging.
Always best to get a number of estimates and then compare quality of good used, workmanship from prior jobs and reputaton . Do not rely on price alone!!
