From Wikipedia - "A common tradition among balloonists is to have a champagne toast upon landing. Legend has it that early French aeronauts carried champagne to appease angry or frightened spectators at the landing site."
It worked to soothe the anger of landing area residents in 18th century France. Will it be enough to win over Villages golfers and homeowners in 2014? Gracie, why are you making the bed sheet into an LZ (landing zone) "here" sign?
A few years back, a balloon landed near a yard on the 9th hole of Riley Grove. I thought I heard champagne corks popping two blocks away. Funny thing, to the best of my knowledge, my great party time neighbors thought it was cool.

On a slow day, most of them will celebrate the growing of grass as well.
