I believe that most people treat their friends, their associates on this planet like they treat their pets.
I think most people are kind to their friends and try to protect them and have a loving attitude toward them. I see no reason to adopt an animal and not cherish and protect it. It certainly makes life harder. Most people who have pets have the same standards for cleanliness and responsibility as others and will think to bring a bottle of water for their pets on a hot day.
I am 74 years old and I have never witnessed with my own eyes anyone letting their dog drink from a drinking fountain so it must be a very RARE instance. I say that many use this forum as a bully pulpit to say mean things to others and cause negative attention to the minority of folks here who are NOT responsible pet owners. There are many on this planet not blessed or cursed with children and they find their house pets to be a warm and fulfilling companion especially in their later years.
I am against LUCY who says "YUCK! Dog Germs!" I have always thought Lucy to be a little brat.
