Groupon is a site that makes deals with merchants to offer their members special deals on goods and services. You can find some excellent bargains, but have to be careful about impulse buying.
For goods, you pay Groupon for an item, plus and tax and shipping costs. The order is usually fulfilled by the merchant, arrives in a Groupon branded box, and usually takes a little longer to ship. So, don't buy something you need immediately. I have items take up to two weeks, but the prices are usually worth it.
For services, you pay Groupon and get a voucher, either printed or on your Groupon phone app, and present it to the merchant to redeem.
As in all special deals, you have to know the value of the item you are ordering to know if the price that is offered is really a good deal.
One of the things I recently purchased is a refurbished Garmin GPS with lifetime map updates for $70. That is just a little more than the price of updating your current Garmin. Most of you with GPS system know, keeping up with new streets south of 466A is a challenge. Sent the old one to my kids in Oregon.
