Due to turnover the mean age is not necessarily going up. The 'historical side' tends to have older residents; south of 466a people tend to be younger. However, I have recently met a number of 50-somethings who have bought homes near Spanish Springs and are totally gutting them. They all told me that a lot of people are doing this because the prices are lower and the lots are larger. And besides - age is just a number. I'm 67 and I have friends in their 50s as well as some pushing 80. Living in The Villages keeps us young.
