Medicare might assist you in the cost of a lift--easy to use to transfer patients from wheelchair to bed. You have to be comfortable in the handling of the machine- but it doesn't take any strength by you to use the equipment. Even the smallest person can lift someone.
These types of equipment also can assist you with transfers from wheelchair to car. The biggest problem is lifting the wheelchair for the car.
I had my dad here and was unable to get assistance needed for doctor appts without paying a big fee.
If he is long term in a chair-- I would recommend trying a handicap van if you drive. Good luck, sorry no advice on home health.
