In general, I find that most renters are not that interested in being friendly. They come for short stays with an agenda or schedule. They're spending money to do stuff, they're not spending money to stand around and talk to me. So they are busy, busy, busy. They are in and out to play golf, tennis, pickle ball etc.. They want to get the most out of their short stay in the Villages. And talking to me is not of much interest to them, as far as I can tell.
Certain neighborhoods have lots of renters coming and going all the time so it's difficult to keep track of who they are. Sometimes I see a lot of activity and sometimes it's very quiet. So I wonder, "did they leave?" After a while I just tune it out and go about minding my own business.
Anyway, the bottom line is: I don't think renters come to Florida to establish friendships with neighbors.
