Trooper is a red, smooth, male dachshund about 5-7 years old. He is a stray who was hit by a car. He was bleeding & thrashing in pain in the road while several cars just drove around him & did not stop. Luckily a good Samaritan, Dawn, stopped her car, covered him in her son’s gym shorts & drove him to the nearest vet for treatment. He was bleeding from the head & mouth & had a broken jaw. Dawn was not sure how she was going to pay for the surgery Trooper needed, but she was determined to help him. She contacted Florida Dachshund Rescue and who agreed to take him & get him the surgery. Trooper had surgery for his broken jaw.
Update to the story: Trooper had a seizure and will need more testing.
