I tried to get the book at the library until I found out it was based on the latest movie.

They carry the original movie at Netflix but it has no release date which means I will never see it.

My understanding is that Kai (played by Keanu Reeves) was really Japanese and not a half-breed as depicted in the movie. I use half-breed because that was what they said in the movie so do not get upset!!! They actually rewrote the movie so that using Reeves as the main actor could be explained.

However, with no book or no Japanese version of the movie it will never be determined.

Good movie anyway.
