I would guess that after the snowbirds have flown home, there is between 60,000 to 70,000 residents (includes a smaller number of transient rentals) plus the non-Villagers. That's a lot of hungry mouths that would prefer eating out instead of slaving over the stove.
If I were a restaurant owner, I would prefer the non-seasonal crowd over the throng of vacation-minded starving snowbirds. But then again, I am way too lazy to fight the fight in the restaurant biz.
