Here's the thing... We think the cone is overkill. Yesterday when the site was oozing, the vet said they would put a "chest wrap" on him. Instead, they put a dinky little Band-aid on, which he proceeded to lick off. So today, again, they said they would put a "chest wrap" on him. Then he came out of the office with the chest wrap AND the cone. The chest wrap covers the whole surgery site, and then some. He's unable to lick, so he's leaving it alone. In fact, the only time he bothered it was when the band-aid was on. So maybe it was the adhesive that was bothering him.
I took the cone off so he could eat dinner in peace. Now he's lounging on the lanai, coneless. I'm leaving it off this evening unless I see him bothering the site.
Maybe I'll put it back on him if we need to drum up some sympathy to get him into a restau... OH I DIDN'T SAYYYYYYYY THAT!!!!!

Emma, get down. OK, you might just go out at after dinner walk the dog time and pet a dog or two and let him sniff your paws..hands...whatever. She's nuts.
