I expressed valid concerns based upon my experience in having been to over twenty foreign countries in various conditions of upheaval, and I provided a direct quote from the
Department of State Traveler's Warning for Egypt and provided a link to that warning. Anyone going abroad should read the State Department briefing for the destination country no matter how benign the country might seem.
The tongue-in-cheek reference to kidnap and ransom insurance made by another poster was an oblique way of saying that going is not a good idea.
The de Nile pun by another poster was just that: a cute pun.
None of us told the OP not to go. I posed a question, WHY go during a period of anti-American upheaval? The OP hasn't answered that question.
You people who are
urging the OP to go should stop and think how you are going to feel if something untoward happens to him. Urging him
to go is just as inappropriate as advising him not to go.
