The autotrain is by far the least expensive way to go for the car, and your travel cost (air vs train) will be comparable. With the recent changes, take your own pillow and blanket as they now charge for these. Dinner and breakfast are included in the ticket price, and if you can sleep in a recliner, the seats are reasonably comfortable.
