I am a native Floridian and I can tell you from many generations of tragic stories that alligators, snakes, panthers, bears and wild boar that are native to this state are not cute and are extremely dangerous when confronted by humans and domesticated pets. They will kill you dead if they have a chance as will most wild animals and should be removed and destroyed. My family, also native Floridians and I can tell you not a tear was shed when these animals were spotted near houses and promptly killed by my Dad or grandfather. My parents breathed a sigh of relief that at least we weren't outside playing, because sadly many children, seniors, pets and men and women in the prime of their lives working the ranch or the farm were killed by these animals. Florida in the old days was a big swamp with high mortality rates from mosquito born diseases and remote homesteads. So, if we are going to live among all the wildlife we have to be smart enough to understand they aren't our cute little pals. If they stay in their habitat OK but look down when you walk in case they decide to try people and or dog meat, it is all the same to them.
