I found this interesting, but I'm a pharmacist. These are the top ten drugs (in order) prescribed in Florida to Medicare patients.

Simvastatin - cholesterol
Lisinopril - blood pressure
Omeprazole - GERD, heartburn
Amlodipine - blood pressure and angina
Levothyroxine - thyroid
furosemide - blood pressure and edema
Metoprolol - blood pressure and angina
Metformin - Type 2 diabetes
Plavix - anti platelet agent.
