We moved from CT two years ago and brought our rather larger than normal Aussie (80 lbs) and I do clip him in the spring and summer. His hair is so thick he still has a good covering from the sun. And I know he appreciates the cut. Our home has laminate throughout other than the laundry room and bathrooms. He spends a lot of time in those rooms in the summer. I walk him in the morning and in the evening (always with a bag in hand in the event...) but during the summer never during midday. The streets are really dangerous on their paws. I don't leave him outside for too long in the summer. But they do adjust. Just as we do. If you have a pool, he will be really happy
