I see nothing wrong with a pound of hamburger on Father's day. Anyone who knows me knows I love to cook, am a fairly good cook and my husband was happy with his supper. I don't think of fathers day or mothers day as a great feast day, kill the fatted calf time like Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas, New Years. Yummy doesn't have to be elaborate or expensive.

We like ground beef. What's your beef?

Gracie......I'm sure your supper came out yummy, but I think what that poster meant was that perhaps some others prepare something "special"; like for instance, whatever the "father of the day" would like for his special celebratory meal. Similar to us moms being taken out to Sunday brunch for Mother's Day or getting flowers, etc. Doing something special for dad.

Most dads love surf and turf.....steak and shrimp on the grill, a nice baked potato and a salad..........nothing at all like a Thanksgiving dinner extravaganza..........plus a nice dessert.

But try that "tailgate" recipe I shared with you, the next time you have a lb. of ground beef thawing. You will like it, for sure.
