Back when we had a sailboat, we used to sail up to the North Channel between US and Canada. I had my first poutine at a little stand on the edge of a marina (Meldrum Bay) on one of the islands. Just plain cheese curds, fries, and gravy. Wonderful!
Later on, Anthony Bourdain did a No Reservations show on poutine from Quebec. There are apparently lots of variations on poutine, all of them artery clogging and all of them sound heavenly! thanks for the memory. Now I'm hungry.
