Before you type what you want in bold, click the letter "B" on the top of the area that opens for your reply. It has a B for Bold, an I for italics and a letter U for underlining text.

After you click the B, type what you want to come out bold and then move your cursor out of the brackets that appeared and continue. Whatever is inside the brackets becomes bold. Did that help?
