Read your policy or contact your agent. In many cases there is a 14 day clause, which means if your home has not been looked in on or checked by someone at least every 14 days, and if there would be a problem, you could possibly NOT be covered. You can't blame the insurance companies, it just makes good sense and protects your investment. A good reason to hire a home watch company for those 3 months.
