The thing about disability is that you can measure a person pretty quickly.
I work with people who by all rights should and could sit back and collect a disability check but whose pride and independence could not bring them to do so.

On the other hand are those who just love to play victim and could do substantially more than they are.

I knew a woman whose bone deformity was such that half her body was about parallel to the ground. Another woman who even with oxygen at her side would sometimes pass out . We did have to work to get her to retire before she hurt herself or someone else. and a guy who after colon surgery needed chemo, He made preparations to have the chemo at 8:00AM nearby the office so he could come to work. I would always greet him to see if he was able to work and he never missed a day after his surgery return to work date. Or the blind word processor who had to take a bus to work wand was always timely never missed a day and continued to produce quality work.

Then there was the young dude that just couldn't get to work because of bad headaches. i didn't get to really know him because he was around for very long. perhaps i should have suggested a handicap sticker for him so he could drive in with his headaches???????????????????????????????

And yes I do believe most of the people who have handicap stickers deserve them
