They are not Areca Palms, they are Dwarf Sugar Palms ( Arenga engleri ) they are a great palm for this area. They average around 9 to 10 ft. tall in this area and can handle the cold quite well. I planted 2 of them at my house in the fall of 2010 and they made it through the winter when it hit 18-degress that one night. They had some burn on them but they came out of it just fine. These are great palms if your looking for some privacy and want a nice tropical look.
