Anna Maria is the prettiest part of Anna Maria Island. Bradenton Beach is very narrow, but the beach is nice and there is diagonal parking all along the beach. You shouldn't have a problem finding parking. The Anna Maria end is wider, more upscale, with more shops. There is plenty of public access, with parking along the streets. Again, parking shouldn't be a problem now. Holmes Beach is between the two. We didn't go out to dinner much when we spent two winters there, because it is mobbed in the snowbird season. If you think TV is bad, you ain't seen nothin'. one time it took us an hour to drive two miles. Mostly we went out to lunch, and there was a place on the southeast side of the bridge at the Bradenton Beach end that had a covered deck, was kind of on the water, and served terrific seafood.
I'd be interested in knowing your driving time if you go. There's a dentist there that I absolutely love. He gives you glasses that play cable tv stations and has a machine that does root canals in a half hour. I had a root canal while watching House Hunters. I'd like to make a day trip out of it and go back to him.
