Default Wiring advice needed

Any retired telephone engineers out there?

I have been trying for months to get CenturyLink to sort out my appalling internet connection, which keeps dropping out for a few minutes.

They claim that it is not them, but my internal telephone wiring that is at fault. I know that my cable wiring is fine as, until recently, I used it for DirecTV.

What I should like to know is: can I get hold of telephone-coax converters so that I can connect my external Centurylink box to my cable wiring, and my internal modem to my cable wiring?

CenturyLink claim they can't connect to my coax, but that gives me 90% confidence that it can actually be done. Just not by those jokers.

Thank you
