This is the first place we've ever lived where dogs were allowed in farmers' markets. Mine is tall enough to sniff a peach pie that you couldn't take home and wash. (But he doesn't go to farmers' markets.) If it's legal, fine, but curious that the health department allows it.

There were two small dogs at the Brownwood market that a man had on leashes that were barking constantly and pulling on their leashes. He would stop at a tent to look at something and both dogs would bark loudly and run around pulling at their leashes and wrapping them around the people that were standing there trying to buy their produce. The man appeared oblivious to the commotion that his dogs were causing. Seriously! Another lady had a dog on a leash and she stopped and let it pee on the pots of plants and flowers that one of the venders was selling. Again, she appeared to think this was perfectly ok. These are the owners that give all dog owners a bad image. What makes these people think that they are entitled to let their dogs do what ever the heck they feel like without regard to anyone around them!
