They should have just stuck to the real story. 500 year old man advised of upcoming great flood. Builds giant ship. Every animal on earth gets on ship. Monsoon rains engulf the entire earth at the same time and world completely floods. All people on earth die except 500 year old man and family. Water levels drop and man and family members reproduce and ultimately repopulate the entire earth. At the same time the flood waters form the grand canyon along with whoever knows what else.
