Re: Final Update - I'm home
Don't do it where you might be there over the weekend! So, make sure you are scheduled for surgery early in the week if you think it should be a short stay.
The nurses were awesome, but by Saturday your docs are off and gone and you get people who know nothing about your case or you and then it gets kinda iffy. The support staff is really nice and both they and nurses will do almost anything they can to keep you comfie and they know their stuff!
The rooms are actually very nice. Better than some hotels I've been in.
The food is typical hospital not-so-good stuff but you can call down to the kitchen for other food like sandwiches or bagels or juices, sodas, etc. if you're not on a special diet.
Oh, plan to go shopping in the gift shop! Wonderful stuff at good prices. I picked up three Christmas presents on my way out the door. Heck, stop at the gift shop even if you're not going to the hospital.
On aside, the hospital has a Toys for Tots bucket in the front lobby. Guess who plans to go back to drop off a gift or two.
