There are so many things wrong with your whole experience that it is bad from the beginning. This could be a staffing problem - new inexperienced person(s) either in the MD office and/or hospital. Overhead at many offices are so high and renumeration from insurance so low, that keeping competent staff is difficult. Some very good personnel can be over-burdened, doing the work of many, that they leave. So lots of turn-over. This can really reflect on the physician's reputation. The whole medical care situation is a mess.
There may come a time that the overhead costs are too great and then the Dr. will leave. This, unfortunately, is not the only disasters Dr's are experiencing, Loss of wards clerks and doctor order entry is very difficult and time consuming. If you check your bills from the hospital, you will find bills that have been charged by the Doctor. He/she charges for 45 minutes (as an example) to see you, when you know you saw them 10 minutes. They have to charge the rest of the time for imputing everything into the computer and it must be in the format the government wants now-a-days. Such as: does the patient smoke (yes, make comment), patient have advanced directives (No, make comment) do they wear seat belts (make comment) and on & on. Now, mind you, you are being seen for high blood pressure, but the government demands that certain parameters be met each time you are seen "you are still wearing seat belts, right?"
However if your weight is contributing to your high blood pressure, all that is necessary is that the MD tell you to loose weight....there are so many "boxes" to check, the doctors don't have time to get-into it with you and the ways that may help you lower your blood pressure.
Is a shame what the great profession has been turned into. God help us all.
