Hi just a quick explanation, lawn bowling is a sport played on grass or other artificial surface, great that we have a lovely green here at Rio Grande Center. Played with four bowls usually, similar to bocce ball size but with a bias that makes them curve to the little white ball, the jack. We have a club called The Villages Lawn Bowls Club which plays on Wednesdays. At 7 pm, we teach and also play a game. It is not like ten pin or alley bowling and not really like bocce. We bowl on a "rink", which is a division of the green. Please look at the bowls usa website, www.bowlsusa.org which has links to videos showing how to play the sport. Equipment, the bowls, is provided so that you can learn to play, so why not come along and we will show how to bowl and get you into a game. A game is usually several "ends", an end is every completion of all the bowls going from one end to another. 7pm Wednesday, flat soled shoes, or 8.30am on Wednesday mornings
