You probably would not have to shift the centerline of the roof or replace the entire truss system. Everyone here is simply giving an opinion but none of us really know the answer. You really need to speak with a few contractors to find out if it's a possibility and it costs nothing to get estimates.
I can only tell you that we have approval and quotes to add on 15 ft. to the side of our house and what is highlighted above does not have to be done. In addition, a neighbor behind us added on to his house and you cannot even see the difference from the original roof to what was added on. PM me if you would like more information.
