Default Wrong Information on Recycling Brochure

A recycling brochure in The Villages from the North Sumter County Utility Dependent District lists what is and is not recyclable. Under "Accepted" it includes:

PET plastic containers with the symbol #1:
narrow neck containers only

"Narrow neck containers only" obviously excludes common #1s such as berry containers. However, I could see no reason for such a distinction, since the type of plastic appears to be the same as #1 water bottles.

I finally decided to call Sumter County about this at the number on the brochure, 352 748 0109, and was told that all #1s are recyclable, including berry containers, etc. I was told that some entity other than Sumter County printed that brochure.

So, as I now understand it, in Sumter County, all plastics with the symbols #1 through #7 are recyclable.
