I know it's hard to believe but I swear it's true: I used to have a home office with the hard-plastic floor protector used so you can roll your office chair over carpeting. Instead of putting out on recycle day, I decided to put it under my 48V cart. Honestly, when I do get some acid on it, I take it outside and wash it clean. (I'm not making it up) I'm not suggesting anyone go out and but one for that purpose but give it a try if you have an old one.
