Back in the 80's when I flew quite often to Europe on Business and the nuts were bombing Corp.buildings, restaurants, etc. I flew on Icelantic to Luxembuurg and then took a train or rented a car to go to Paris. At that time Icelantic Airlines had never had a fatal accident and who the heck wanted to make Iceland a target. The one rule was that we had to land in Iceland on the way and we usually stayed about 1 - 1 1/2 hours and shopped in their duty free shop which had some real good homemade things. There usually were a few US Military planes who were duty shopping, (liquor, etc) and taking them back to the US. If I felt threatend today I would go back to Icelantic as they seem to be quite safe. Once in Europe I guess I would not worry anymore than if I were in the US as I think the risk on the ground is not as great as some believe. As they say there is safe in numbers?
