Perhaps the Tech from Pool Co is talking about

The switch activates when flow sensor detects flow.
De-activates when flow sensor detects no flow.

The set up protects your pump from running without water
going thru it.

Price depends on whether you need Switch and/or Sensor.
Also length of run and ease of accessibility,
if wire to area needs total replacement, etc..

Use a reputable Pool Company like T& D.
This is ELECTRIC work, they have a CERTIFIED Electrician
to replace the wiring.
Thank you so much. That is exactly what I am referring to.
The pool company we are now using after switching from T&D is replacing it but I thought the cost sounded high. I have no idea what it costs but it was just for the wire and connection because you can see the wire is compromised where it goes into the connection. He suggested that we get a handy man to put a cover over the pool equipment as the elements, rain, etc. wear out the pieces quicker. When someone says the cost and they aren't charging for installation, I wonder what the real cost is.
