Come look at my lawn. I'll let you know when. We potty our big dog in the landscaping stones because the pee absolutely kills the lawn (big yellow oval, yes) when he manages to pee in the grass, which he sometimes will when lounging out on a line on the front porch.
Bonnie, I do walk him in the street only, but only when it's cool enough, morning or dark, when the streets are nearly empty. A six-foot leash keeps him off the grass, but not in the middle of the street. I can make it work so that nobody's property is walked on. Because it's an "issue" here in TV with many folks, I feel the easiest thing to do is keep the dog off the grass.
My husband was sitting on the porch one morning when some guy came by with his dog on one of those extendable leashes. He didn't see my husband, and extended the leash to let the dog all the way up our yard to the landscaping. My husband stood up and said "That's our yard!" The guy apologized and said it wouldn't happen again, and my husband said Thank you.
But... I'd still like to hear from the OP if he has actually seen his neighbor let his dog poop in his yard/driveway.
