I could never figure out why some people feel they have the right to be judgmental about other people's time schedules. Just because someone is retired doesn't mean they have all the time in the world. People do volunteerism, have doctor's appointments, sports schedules, meetings and so on. And yes, they may be in a hurry. Get over it.
