We had some very expensive wrought iron furniture "up north" that I tired of re-finishing myself. What I did up there was have it sand-blasted and the coated with a baked on finish. Since having that done the furniture could be left out in rain and even snow with no problem whatsoever. I don't exactly know the product used, but you can call Barbara Brown, the owner of the company in Elk Grove Village, IL at (847) 806-6986. She might be able to steer you in the right direction to find a company here in central Florida that does the same work.

We brought the furniture down here and used it for several years, selling it to another new homeowner a couple years ago. At that point the furniture was at least 25 years old and had been used outside with the finish I'm describing for at least 8-10 years.
