We were also required to wear dress shirts, dress pants and dress shoes and socks to school everyday. Five years later I drove by the school and everyone was wearing shorts and sandals and hair down to their shoulders. Our school was also not air conditioned but it was a great school, oldest in Florida.

The Villages Florida
In my all boys Catholic High School in Jersey City in 1968 we were upset with all the rules. On college campuses all over there were protests. We planned to upset our system at noon on a friday. When the clock struck 12, in protest of all that was wrong with the world we would all take off our ties! Being good Catholic boys, at noon we all chickened out. So much for "in unity there is strength".
