I can't really understand the reasoning that The Villages is a trademark, owned by The Villages but yet we are a town in Florida with 3 separate zip codes under The Villages, FL.
I can grasp that The Villages does not want anyone to come in, and more or less represent them, by using the name The Villages, but .... how legal is it to make entities go through changing the names, LLC's, websites, stationary, etc...
Just a question that maybe the Admin can answer.

I would think it would have to do with being a business. If the business is bad, I certainly wouldn't want my name associated with it or have anyone think I was involved with it.
Maybe things like Life in Villages, etc, are more community oriented and considered a blog or a newsletter with good things about the Villages.
Just a guess.
