Tuna Noodle Casserole
We make it all the time. It is one of my favorites.
Serves 2 or 3.
One can of solid white albacore Tuna
one can of cream of celery celery soup (my wife does not like mushrooms - if you do use cream of mushroom soup)
Milk
one can of peas - drained
1/2 box of medium sized shells (macaroni shells - not sea shells)
Put the tuna in a pan and smash it up with a fork
Add the cream of celery soup.
Fill the empty soup can half full and stir it with a spoon to get the rest of the soup out of the can. Pour it on the tuna and stir it together.
Do that again to make sure the can is clean (waste not - want not as mother always said)
Add the peas and stir it all together and bring it to a simmer - stirring often.
In the meanwhile, take a medium sized pot and fill it 1/2 full of water and bring it to a boil. Put the shells in the pot and cook for 9-10 minutes - I usually simmer but I like to see a few bubbles. I stir every five minutes just so I look busy to my wife.
After the tuna mixture is nice and warm and mixed well and the shells are done, drain the shells, return them to the pot and add the tuna mixture. Stir it well and let it set for 10 minutes so it all soaks together.
Call the spouse and say it is ready. Mop your brow like you did a whole bunch of work. Enjoy the praise for the great meal.
